# 3578; 4/2023. Caramel, metalic and cherry aroma. Brilliant pale brown body, tany head. Sweet fruity, watery, cola, fresh, dry herbal finish. Very good mild ale. 0,275 l, bottle, cider and craft beer shop, Firle (Sussex, South England).

Bottle at the Royal Oak, Borough. It pours clear deep brown with h a small bubbly off white head. The aroma is pretty sweet, woody, slightly nutty, but mostly sweet caramel, cola and treacle. The taste is smooth, but also quite light, quite sweet, caramely, supermarket own brand cola, touch of dried fruits/fruit cake about it. Finish is short and sweet. Light body and fine carbonation. Lacks classic Harvey's character one would expect (from a cask version anyhow). Quite meh.

500 ml bottle, as Harvey's Dark Mild, from Seven Cellars. ABV is 2.8%. Mahogany colour, moderate to small off-white to beige head. Malty aroma, notes of brown bread, caramel and nuts. Slightly sweet flavour with the same elements as the aroma, hints of blackberries and blackcurrants, minimal hops.

Cask at the Royal Oak. Dark red/brown with a small beige/slightly grey head. Aroma is oaky and fruity, bit of cherry in there I think. Quite creamy malty with a slight sourness. Bit thin in the mouth, and but with a nice fruity finish. For me one of the better Harveys beers, but still not wild about it.

Tap at Royal Oak. Ruby brown-red body. Ultra smooth, creamy body. Nutty, smooth caramel malts. Excellent. World Class example of the style. My favorite Mild perhaps.
