Cask at the Royal Oak, Borough on 11th June 2025. Deep, yet clear, sepia brown with shallow greyish foam and full lacing. Rich and inviting roast malt aroma. Herbal hoppiness, grasses and roasty malts in-mouth, with an Ovaltine finish. Light bodied with an engaging texture. Perfectly kept.

Poor pour and looks like flat coke in the glass. No real aroma and this does not taste like beer, more like a malty slightly sweet drink. Really watery and ended up being a drain pour. Really bad.

Gravicask, half pint, 3.0 % abv, shared with Finn at St Albans Beer & Cider Festival 2023. Deep, dark brown body, filmy layer, dotted spots on the glass. Moderate aromas of mid-sweet malts. Moments of caramel and chocolate to the taste buds. Slightly roasted malty end. Bit thin on the swallow. Fair enough. (St Albans, 27.09.2023). --- Beer merged from original tick of Harvey's Dark Mild on 19 Feb 2022 at 12:19

Cask at The Hursts Arms, Eastbourne. Dark black. Watery but with enough flavour to justify a pint. Need to rerate soon..

# 3578; 4/2023. Caramel, metalic and cherry aroma. Brilliant pale brown body, tany head. Sweet fruity, watery, cola, fresh, dry herbal finish. Very good mild ale. 0,275 l, bottle, cider and craft beer shop, Firle (Sussex, South England).

Bottle at the Royal Oak, Borough. It pours clear deep brown with h a small bubbly off white head. The aroma is pretty sweet, woody, slightly nutty, but mostly sweet caramel, cola and treacle. The taste is smooth, but also quite light, quite sweet, caramely, supermarket own brand cola, touch of dried fruits/fruit cake about it. Finish is short and sweet. Light body and fine carbonation. Lacks classic Harvey's character one would expect (from a cask version anyhow). Quite meh.
