16oz can from a liquor store in Chatham, Cape Cod. Drunk at our motel in Bar Harbor. Pours pitch black, with a dense, deep tan head. Prominent aroma of roasted coffee grain. Good coffee presence to taste without dominating too much, nicely sweet with nice chocolatey notes. Excellent coffee stout overall.

--Keg at Man in The Moon, Stockholm. -- Very dark brown, small head. Rich aroma of coffee, some caramel. Mid sweet with medium body and clean, hard mouthfeel. Caramel and chocolatey coffee. Low bitterness. Nice flavours, but the malt character is sharp and basic.

16oz can as gift. Near black pour, small beige head fades to flat. Aroma is half chocolate, half coffee. Taste brings both sweetness and bitterness. More emphasis on the coffee.

Can. A loose tan head breaks up over a black beer. Intense mocha aroma with roast just in the background. Dark chocolate, lightly roasted coffee. Lightish bodied and a bit dead feeling. 3- Medium low carbonation. Nice coffee, not too sweet. Nicely judged roast but not much underneath. Slightly spicy finish; coffee hangs around. A flavoured beverage.

Pours pitch black with a fluffy tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, toffee, coffee. Taste has bitter, burnt cocoa, rich chocolate malt. Palate has much of the same, lingering burnt caramel on the tongue, slightly creamy. Good.

Can (3/11/20) pour from Total Wine & More, Burlington. Appearance is opaque black (dark brown at the bottom of the glass) with lots of bubbles and sparkle at the edges of the glass with 3-finger foamy beige head with fair retention and spotty lacing. Aroma is roasted malt and coffee (bordering on char) and milder chocolate. Taste follows aroma but bitter coffee is lower, and chocolate higher, in the mix; earthy roasted malts and mild lactose as well. Mouthfeel is medium side of light-to-medium bodied with smooth, silky texture, soft carbonation and crisp finish as taste with lasting roasted bitterness. Overall, pretty decent but not much complexity in the aroma and bordering on char.

Can, from TapRm. Pours opaque dark brown with small foamy tan head, sweet mocha aroma, low carbonation, medium sweet mocha taste, smooth body, long finish. A bit lightweight but certainly a joy to drink.
