Sometimes our Belgian-style Pale Ale GOOD OMEN takes a turn for the sinister after a diabolical infusion of pureed raspberries and cherries, transforming it into BAD OMEN. The signature fruity esters, derived from a classic Trappist yeast strain, dovetail nicely with the red berry notes. Slightly tart, with a perception of sweetness before a dry finish.

Pours pale golden, slightly hazy, little white head. Aroma of lactose, some ferrous yeast. Taste has fruit notes, raspberry, some plum skin, chokeberry. Palate has Belgian yeast, some tartness. Interesting.

Draught at their beer garden, 7/24/21.
Very slight haze to this mostly pale, brassy-golden beer. Off-white head atop is small, mostly diminishing rather quickly.
Some stiff ester and phenol in the nose is joined by punchy, raspberry-like fruit acidity with a touch of light honey from the malt and plentiful biscuit/bread character. No alcohol or flaw.
A bit forceful up front with strong acidity and high phenolic spiciness in concert with biscuity malts that all push the beer to the very dry and bitter/acidic side. There is some malt depth and softness but it's not quite enough. The fruit is fine but mostly comes across as rather punchy acidity.
