Marston’s Resolution delivers punchy flavours and lots of character. In order to deliver all of that wonderful flavour, which Marston’s is renowned for, Marston’s Resolution undergoes a double fermentation process which turns all sugars into alcohol.

The end result is a strong, refreshing beer that’s less filling and easier to drink. Not only this, but it’s also great tasting with lots of full-bodied flavours which are finished off with a refreshing, crisp note.

275ml bottle from Morrisons as part of 4 British Ales for £4. Light copper colour, small white head, circular retention. Aroma of light caramel malts, straw. Taste is light caramel, quite sweet, light bodied although not watery, low almost non existent bitterness. Quite bland but not unpleasant. Its not really an ale and there is no mention of the low carb element to this which is surely its selling point. Odd, as is the beer to a degree as it lacks any of the normal elements of lager as well in the flavour. Its basically like a light caramel malt alcoholic beverage, one-dimensional but perfectly drinkable and I strangely enjoyed it.

Bottle from Beers of Europe. Appearance - golden with decent lacing. Nose - caramel and toffee. Taste - light honey to caramel. Palate - light bodied and a but too sweet thereafter. Overall - missing the expected lager notes.

Bottle, from historic notes. Source not recorded. Poured golden amber with a small white head. Aroma of rotting fruit and veg. Watery texture. Just wasn't very nice.

Pale yellow, bugger all head. Light, malty smell with some citrus. It's a Smith, mellow, sweet ale. Not much else to say. Fine but meh.

In der Nase Malz, Trauben, Wein. Im Trunk bitter, sauer, auch im Abgang sehr sauer. Nicht sonderlich speziell, die Säure ist gewöhnungsbedürftig.
