Draught @ Gastropub Tuulensuu
Aroma has butter and lots of grainy malt - does not feel like pils at all. Flavour is sweet and very rich on malt. Also some butter and hints of corn. Malty all the way, definitely not your typical pils. On blind tasting I would take this as a dunkler bock.

Originally rated April 2004. Nice golden straw colour with medium carbonation. The small head quickly disappears, but good lacing is left. It has a slight skunky smell, but nothing like STELLA ARTOIS. This pilsner has a very smooth mouthfeel and a dry aftertaste. Sweet malt taste. Overall, quite refreshing.

Had 0.33 l bottle of this yesterday. It poured clear yellow body with medium to big head. Weaker herbal hop aroma. Bitter and slightly sourish lemony, herbal hop flavor, finely balanced with bread and biscuit malt. Unfortunately, it shows metallic notes, especially toward the finish. Medium in body with lemon and herbal hops in the aftertaste, as well as some bittersweet notes of bread/biscuit. Not bad at all, has some fine hops indeed, though leaves quite weak impression and has some flaws.

Refrigerated green bottle poured into a shaker. Pours clear very pale yellow with medium bright white head. Pretty good lacing, light body, and medium carbonation. Taste is light malt, slightly metallic corn, and a hint of skunk.

33cl bottle. Pours a lemon-golden beer with some bubbles and quite a good head. The head fades but not completely - there’s still a film of white lace. The nose is more interesting than I thought it would be - some sweet malt but a definitely citrus aroma too. The taste is mainly cereal but with just a hint of fruity hops. The palate has a medium body a creamier than expected texture and a nice clean finish. Overall enjoyable, not the greatest but could happily drink several.

Wonderland Ballroom, DC pint ($5): Pours a pale gold color with a nice little head. Aroma is a little skunky and grassy. Taste has the bitterness of the hops present. Malty, but not so much. Not a huge amount of taste, but it is done very properly. Sessionable and quite drinkable obviously.

Bottle in Salzburg, Austria. Crisp lager. Not too malty. Minerally dry finish. Okay, whets your whistle!

Ring-pull bottle - don’t see many of those these days. Gold, white head that fades to a coat quickly. Aroma has some hay and savoury lemon and herbal hops. Smelled really promising, but there’s bland grainy sweetness and drying bitterness that builds. Pretty good and in fine condition, but the aroma oversold it. A bit caught between two stools: it’s not really austere and aperitif-style nor of sufficient malt weight to be a satisfying quaffer. [3.0] Much the same this time - nice hop aroma, a bit let down by the taste. A little honey touch in the malt.
