While the name might give the impression the beer was possibly a mistake, or folly, the name actually originates from a road that runs near to the brewery of the same name. We used a new to us yeast in this batch, Saccharomyces Kudriavzevii, which is isolated from the bark of oak trees, alongside our own mixed culture to enhance the woody characteristics along with a stronger bitterness not often found in our beers due to the use of more of our locally grown hops. The beer was then aged for 5 months in a second use Rioja cask to round it out.

Bottle at home in Hackney - sourced via Premier Hop. Pours mostly clear, deep reddish orange with a small, foamy off-white head that settles quickly into a cream. Has some fairly assertive acidity, nice lemon, dried berries, a little funk, damp wood, salt. Medium bodied with spritzy carbonation. Acetic bite in the finish, some sweat, more salt and citric tartness. Very nice overall.

The taste is crisp, dry, tart, zingy, cranberry, redcurrant, red grape, musty, floral, rose, funk, lactic and wet hay with a drying finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Not bad.
