I was made to stand for the first time a couple of drinks ago after three days in the Scottish capital. A stool on the subsequent drink, now a pew, but it does have a strong backboard. I appreciate it given my tourist days legs are hurting a little. Mild strewed notes for this Citra special. Not quite getting the Citra hop in pure form but somewhat evident.

Fresh on Cask at The Globe Inn, Aberdeen. It pours every so slightly hazy golden with a thick, fluffy off - white head. The aroma is fresh citrus vibes, grassy, piney, clean citrus, grapefruit in particular, touch of pomelo and biscuity malt base. The taste is fairly crisp, firm dryness, well judged bitterness, clean, touch biscuity, pleasing hit of citra, fresh citrus, grapefruit, lemon, pine and a touch of greenness with a fairly soft, fruity finish. Light+ body and moderate, fluffy carbonation. Ticks all the boxes for a low 3%er cask ale. Quenching.

On cask at the Hanging Bat. Appearance - golden with a decent head. Nose - sweet malt notes, light grapefruit and nettles. Taste - as per the nose. Malt and a touch of grapefruit up front. Nettles close it out. Palate - soft texture, light to medium bodied, dry, elegant finish. Overall - another good Swannay production.

Cask at cloisters. Pours clear amber, nose is floral, mango, lemon, taste is juicy fruit, sweet, cereal.
