Primordial takes the roasted malt flavours and crisp lagered elements of a traditional schwarzbier and blends in bright citrus and sweet pomegranate to produce a uniquely flavoured lager. The aroma is an enticing blend of chocolate and lightly roasted malts with oily Seville pith. These flavours follow on the palate with a rich and dry finish, accentuated by sticky pomegranate juice.

2/1/2021. Bottle from A Hoppy Place, Windsor. Pours close to black with a small frothy light beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, citrus, dark fruit a whiff of vic's. Medium sweetness, with pomegranate bitter/sour. Medium body, creamy texture, soft carbonation. Chocolate and sour finish. Interesting, liked the aroma and looks, but not a big fan of the taste.

150ml draught at Agenturet Øl og Vinbar. A coal black body under a low beige head, dotted spots on the glassware. Moderate smell of earthy malts and liquorice. Flavoured with liquorice partially overrun by some kind of acidity. Salty liquorice ending, mid-tart. Okay but slightly unbalanced. (Tromsø 07.07.2020).

Svart. Lavt mokkafarget skum. Syltynn lacing. God sjokoladearoma. Smaken tørr kakao & syrlig salt lakris. Ekstra tørr avslutning. På grensen til gåen.

Then the wind blew, knocked the parasol and the glass, goddam ! Managed to catch it, but lost a little. Ahh well, good beer

Bottle ordered from A Hoppy Place, Windsor. Cloudy dark brown. Frothy tan head. A sour citrus kick cuts through the malty dark chocolate aroma. Light-medium bitter dark chocolate with a malty core. A tangy citrusness throughout. However it also gains bitterness, develping a charcoal bite. Medium bodied. Slick. Average-fizzy. Dry astringent finish. Interesting stuff. Would be a bitter full-on.Schwarzbier (or hoppy dark lager?), which it manages to maintain despite the citrus juice.
