Bottled (from Alko Prisma, Vaasa). Hazy orange colour with a mediumsized slightly off-white head. Aroma is wheat, mild rubbery and citrusy notes with some slight spices and yeastyness. Flavour is balanced wheat, citrus, yeast and some slight spices. Mild rubbery aftertaste along with some toffee as well.

500 ml bottle. Fragrant, big nose, citrus, alcohol, wheat, touch of peach and banana. It is also quite acidic, though I don’t know if that’s supposed to be there. Flavor is also sweet-and-sour, not sure if that’s on purpose. Funky, lambic-esque tartness works with bread, banana, apricots, a bit of grapefruit. Acidity was a big surprise. I think it works, well enough anyway. It makes it very interesting and unique, though I think the regular hefeweizen is far more perfect. Still, this is excellent. The tartness makes it oh so drinkable.

50cl Bottle from De Bierkoning. Hazy golden amber colour, big white head. Aroma of a typical hefeweizen, lots of sweet banana and cloves, bread, wheat, alcohol, light phenolic. Flavour is sweet, banana, clove, light sour wheat, a bit sharp light spicy alcoholic finish that lingers. Above average carbonation, medium to fullbodied. Sweetness is bordering on cloying, but this is nice stuff.

Bottled. An unclear dark golden beer with a thin beige head. The aroma has notes of malt, bread, and dusty hops. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, dusty hops, and alcohol, leading to a dry alcoholic finish.

500ml bottle from Porterhouse. One off my want list, thanks Kevin! Nose of whole wheat, caramel, and some yeast. Cloudy copper with a big pale yellow head. Flavor is light banana, caramel, with light sweetness. Decent weizenbock but not as big and fruity as I like.

Bottled at La 100 de Beri, Bucharest, Romania. Cloudy amber, creamy head. Caramelly banana aroma. Sweet and fruity with medium-full body. Soft and spritzy, mildly warming with spun sugar, mashed banana and caramel in the finish.

Bottle 50 cl. Courtesy of Plovmand. Pours a cloudy opaque golden with a small off-white head. Sweet syrupy and estery banana nose. Medium body, heavy carbonation with big bubbles, some sweet banana with a tart edge, some overripe fruitiness. Somewhat oxidized too. 270411

Pour is a honey color with a large white head. Aroma is fruity with some wheat and cider. Flavor is again starts out on the fruity side then follows with some honey and spice. Finish is very sweet. This is a very nice WB with plenty of flavor.

Refrigerated bottle poured into a weizen glass. Pours a deep cloudy golden color with big chunks of yeast and a huge bright white head. Extremely carbonated (actually too much) and fair lacing. Taste is malt (mostly caramel) banana. Good but not great.

Bottle. It’s a hazy, dark orange beer with a rapidly diminishing off-white head starting out at two-finger height. The aroma is sweetish, with banana, fruits and caramel. Some whiffs of spices and acetone in the back. The flavor has a more evident acetone than the aroma has, but fortunately the banana and caramel sweetness dominates. Bitter, banana-fruity finish. Full-bodied and effervescent. Overall, a nice beer, but I would like it even more without the acetone. 091223
