Western Approaches IPL je světlé spodně kvašené silné pivo typu India Pale Lager. Harmonicky snoubí rysy klasického ležáku i svrchně kvašeného piva typu IPA. Vyrobili jsme ho jako klasický ležák, který jsme okořenili americkými odrůdami chmele použitými i pro chmelení za studena a v cryo úpravě (kromě oblíbeného Cascade jsme nově použili i odrůdu Loral). Výsledkem je krásně pitelné pivo se středním řízem a lehčím tělem, ve kterém nádherně vynikne vyšší hořkost a květinovo-citrusové aroma a zemité tóny.

0,5 l can. Pours hazy golden yellow with big, lasting, frothy white head. Aroma of citruses, grassy hops, but there is a good malt base, some straw. Taste is medium sweet and bitter, flavor very fruity. More citruses. Carbonation is high, almost prickly, but not annoying. Finish is long, pleasantly hoppy and bitter. Very nice.

500ml can from Vinmonopolet Nettbutikk. Declining, huge, white head, spotty lacing, misty golden body. Moderate smell of herbal hops, grass, and pale malts. Flavoured with ripe lemon, noble hops and grainy malts. Hints of fruity bitterness to the ending. Refreshingly good mouthfeel. Pretty fair. (Tromsø 05.06.2022).

Golden, cloudy with a large frothy white head. Aroma of hops, malt, straw and citrus. Good bitterness with a dry straw, malt and some hops ending.

Can first stop in Worcester is Hop Lord's. Saturday 14th May 2022 in the company of Lynn and Barry. Pours warm hazy orange/gold with a good sized white head. Nice bitterness, plenty of hoppiness, dry, good hoppiness. Very refreshing and crisp a great start.

ABV: 5.1%. Clear medium to light orange yellow colour with a average to large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, pale malt, sweet malt, fruity malt, moderate hoppy, fruity hops, floral. Flavor is moderate sweet with a average to long duration, sweet malt, pale malt, floral, fruity malt, sweet silage. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20210923]
