Can courtesy of Motelpogo, who shared it with me and Mowbeer. Well, allegedly a Brett West Coast IPA, this is everything but West Coast I reckon. Poured a milky, murky paaale orange body. Tropical aroma, bretty notes, vague alcohol and some tartness really. Pleasant. Lean taste, distinct pineapple, herbal notes, light brett, lovely balance all in all, quite drinkable, with some random elderflower notes popping up in the finish. Excellent stuff, defying any stated style restrictions thanks to Brett (and the can staying in the fridge for a bit more than expected). Hats off!

Another can from Beer Cartel and #ratebeersupertasters. Orange. Pineapple nose. Curious set of flavours. There is some bitterness and a brettiness that leans in the saison direction. The pineapple is forward but in a restrained non juicy way. Very distinct beer.

(Bottle) Pours clear golden with big loose white head. Nice aroma of grapefruit, citrus, pine and hints of grain, but nothing funky that I could detect. Light body, with lively carbonation. There’s some light biscuity malt with grapefruit at the start. This is quickly pushed aside by peppery, earthy and funky flavours which develop into a fairly bitter finish. Unusual, interesting and very drinkable.

Sampled from the tap at The Taphouse. Pours a near clear yellow with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has dank citrus and earthy pineapple with an earthy grain supporting. Flavor has dry pineapple with grass, earthy flora and grains underlying.

On tap at Basement Brewhouse Bankstown. Golden amber beer with thin film of suds on top. Nose is slightly citric and earthy. Smooth texture, good body, pineapple finish. No hand grenade but fun!

On tap at the Lumsden. Aroma is a bunch of tart pineapple and mango notes. Flavour is the same, but less clean. Quite drinkable, though the brett doesn’t show up to the degree I want.
