We remember our first sip of hoppy beer, do you?
Nearly spit that $#!^ out. Now we fantasize about this stuff. Thinking about those hop cones… bursting with juice… ripe as all hell… makes you look forward to that first RESIN all day long. Can’t wait.
RESIN slaps you with serious unfiltered dankness — sure it stings, but it feels so good at the same time. It’s hop candy up front, but drinks super clean for the size of the beer.
Key Ingredients Chinook and Centennial Hops are a little old school, with tons of resin and pine notes. RESIN uses a ton of different hops, for a massively complex hop bouquet.

Can shared@Holland Tringham JDW, Streatham, London - Amber pour with white head. Sweet malty and big dank hoppy aroma and taste, solid sweet malty backbone, caramel, fudge, some grapefruit and tangerine notes, herbal piney dank hoppy finish. Very nice but can is best before June 2017, would like a rerate sometime on a fresher sample.

Tap @ Kromme Haring, 15 cl sample. Slight hazy golden color, short frothy head. Aroma of piney and citrussy hop, some cookie malt. Quite sharp bitterness, alcohol bite, some malty sweetness. Hmm, I’m actually not impressed.

On tap at De Kromme Haring. Clear golden amber/orange colour, white head. Aroma of sweet malts, toffee, resin, pine, weed, some tropical fruits, alcohol. Flavour is malty sweet and pine bitterness, carame, tropical fruits, resin, alcohol, bitter finish. Medium bodied. A bit too much for me.

Can takeaway from Tilly Shilling, Farnborough. Hops and caramel aroma - the resin innit. Light amber. Opaque. Bright white head, which dissipates all too quickly. The hop bitterness is there, certainly in the finish, but there’s also sweetness and a maltyness. Light to medium bodied. Slick. A buzz from the carbonation. Long but restrained finish. Good stuff. And hides the ABV abley.

A big, fat, prickly pine cone of an DIPA, oozing with oily, clingy bitterness, layering mild grapefruit and lemon hop notes on top of a thick caramel base. Grows herbaceous as it warms, perking up with a wet green slap of hoppy boisterousness, with increasing orange marmalade on the back. Dense, with a somewhat spiky texture, yet the finish grows easy and insanely dry, spiking your tongue with a tenacious IBU-loaded fade. Probably shouldn’t have tried this after indulging in a Hopslam, but it’s still a delicious, mean-spirited Imperial IPA.

Can from Beer Gonzo. Clear amber body with a thin off-white head. Steady carbonation. Good lacing. Aroma of pine, honey and caramel. Flavour of blood orange, sweet resin and a bitter, hoppy finish. Medium body with a sticky mouthfeel. Soft fizz. Mega bitter but incredibly drinkable. I really enjoyed this.
