24/II/20 - 1Pt. can @ ElManana+1’s place, BB: n/a, canned: XII/19/19 (2020-158) Thanks to ElManana+1 for sharing the can!

Cloudy pale yellowish beer, big creamy aery off-white head, pretty stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: coconut, fresh cut coconut and toasted sugary coconut, fruity notes. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: nice, lots of coconuts, bit sweet, more coconut, sugary touch, pretty light impression. Aftertaste: more toasted coconut, nice bitterness, sweet touch, some citrus, more coconut, nice, interesting, not great though… Didn’t get the strawberry though.

Can. So, despite the abv pushing 9%, this IPA is only worthy of ‘IPA’ status because it’s ‘flavoured’. Unadulterated IPAs and DIPAs are largely distinguished on abv but fool around with those additives and those boundaries disappear. What an utter shitshow are the Ratebeer styles. Here is a perfect example. The abv, so important to the base beers, doesn’t matter a jot here. Yes, a nice combo of coconut, slightly candy strawberry and smooth pine. Smooth finish. Okay, this is undeniably hoppy, undeniably big on abv, 8.8%, and undeniably fruity additive. So let’s call this a flavoured IPA. Fucking moronic style definitions from what should be the industry leader.

One of the most odd and unlikely beers for me to try and like, but I do. The Aromas are mainly resin hops with a little strawberry and coconut. Flavors are way different with strawberry prominent a little coconut and hops but in aesthetically pleasing proportions. Good body carbonation and finish. A little boozy at the end but still good. Nice beer.
