Review based on the BJCP2015 guidelines (style 33A / 28C: wild yeast / 29A: blackcurrant / 23A). Bottle 33 cl - Batch L24042020 (BBF 04.2023). AROMA: predominant medium-high sour aroma with a bit of an acetic character, combined with wood. medium-low background notes of barnyard and horsey. APPEARANCE: reddish body and a bit hazy. medium-large light pink head with medium-low retention. TASTE: similar to the aroma with an initial medium-high sourness (lactic and low acetic), low barnyard. medium-high background off wood. unbalanced. finishes dry with a sour and woody character. PALATE: medium-low body with medium-high to high carbonation. slight tanninic astringency. OVERALL: a wild beer with added fruit (not detected) completely overwhelmed by excessive barrel conditioning.
