La Sirene The Beginning Wild Ale Golden orange rose in color with a tart plum acidic nose. The body is light and acidic, tart, fruity - kind of simple in profile but with decent oak in the finish and overall satisfying.

Bottle. Passed on this when I first saw it because at $A 20+ for 375ml it was as expensive as real lambic from reliable producers. Bought on the strength of czar's review and La Sirène's track record. Almost clear gold with a suggestion of a head. Aroma of old lemons, lime, apricots and their stones, oak. Not really funky. A little body but not really slippery. It's almost flat but those remaining bubbles really work. Tart like a Meyer lemon with all manner of citrus - sour, old, zesty, sunny - before oak takes hold. Delicious with excellent balance.
