Bottle 50 cl. Pours an almost clear amber with a creamy, beige head. Dusty, biscuity nose with a metallic touch. Medium body, nutty and caramelly but not really sweet. Subdued bitterness. 140923

Bottle picked up from Fristo Getrankemarkt, Freising and consumed at home, sat outside, it's another glorious day today, Wednesday 21st June 2023 listening to Steve Lamaq on 6music it's wall to wall Glastonbury coverage. Pours more hazy amber than dark gold as others describe, however it's clearly the same beer, off white head. Sweet and malty there is a little bit of cereal and biscuit, it's ok.

Im Glas zeigt sich sehr trübes dunkles ocker. Die weiße bis leicht cremefarbene, mittel- bis grobporige Schaumkrone gestaltet sich flaumig bis wässerig und fällt zunehmends in sich zusammen. In der Nase leicht süß-herb, karamellig, sowie etwas fruchtig und muffig. Der Antrunk wirkt weich-spritzig, leicht fruchtig-hefig, aber etwas dünn. Der Mittelteil wird von hefigen Aromen dominiert, die ganz zarte Fruchtnoten von Marille, Pfirsich, Apfel und Traube mit sich bringen, jedoch eine leichte Säure mit sich führen. Malz- oder Hopfennoten bleiben praktisch vollkommen aus. Für ein Kellerbier etwas ungewohnt und fast schon an ein unterdurchschnittliches Weizen erinnernd, ergeben sich nur eher mäßige Beurteilungen für Trinkgefühl/Trinkfreude und Süffigkeit. Der Nachtrunk gestaltet sich ebenso sehr hefedominant - nicht unbedingt übel, aber auch nicht sonderlich weltbewegend toll. Spät im Nachtrunk manifestiert sich eine fast künstlich wirkende Süße. Für meinen Geschmack ein eher unterdurchschnittliches und gewöhnungsbedürftiges Kellerbier. In so einem Fall nehme ich lieber 15 Cent mehr in die Hand und habe ein wirklich gutes Kellerbier.

50cl bottle. A slightly hazy dark golden beer with a small off-white head. Aroma of dry grainy malt, some caramel and biscuit. Taste of mild reddish malt, biscuit, resinous hops, moderate bitterness.

€-Fläschla (Dank, wie immer, am See!!!): Golden, hazy, small lacy white head, mild grainy and yeasty-fruity nose, lonesome herbal-“woody” hops underneath; mild to moderate dryish bitter-sweet flavour, nearly medium bodied, quite soft; slightly lingering herbal-bitter and pale-malty finish. Surprise! Presumably a chesp one, but pretty well crafted…

Huge thanks to quack-duck for that one! Bottle looks simple but good. Beer in the glass zippy, small head. Starts mild, malty, a bit moldy. Some notes of butter cookies. Shy hoppy notes in the background. Finish a bit boring malty. Okay.
