Tap at Takumiya. Deep amber-orange, hazy, with lace. Toasty malt nose, caramel, Goldings-like hops. Very lemony, citrusy, a bit of booze, toasty, almost roasty. Rather strange fruitiness in the finish is a bit weird for the style but decent.

Shiga Kogen EKG ESB An East Kent Golding single hop English Special Bitter that continues Shiga Kogen’s recent single hop series but with a twist. Orange brown with beige lacing and a biscuity toffee aroma. Medium bodied with biscuit, toffee and some herbal minty bitterness but crisp and it’s even got hints of tobacco leaf. Not the best ESB but a decent example of one.

Quite nice. Pretty malty but with something a little spritzy and lightly spicy. Biscuits.
