4th March 2018
Brewdog Shepherds Nether Parts Regions. Keg. Hazy orange - amber beer, small cream colour head. Palate is airy and dry, decent fine carbonation. Malts provide a little creamy sweetness and something like a rye tang. Hops bring spicy marmalade and mild pine. Modest hop spice. Bitterish orange peel on the back end. Spicy bitter linger. Nice IPA.

Crisp amber coloured body with a nice, two centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of caramel, toffee, earth and nuts with a touch of earthy and floral hops. Medium-bodied; Strong toffee and caramel flavours at first with a lot of earth and toasted malt notes right behind, along with some cereal and cardboard. Aftertaste shows some residual bitterness from the hops along with a bit of sweetness from the caramel, toffee and earth that shows alongside the malt. Overall, a decent IPA with more of an English feel and earthy flavours than I typically like, but not bad, and the hops still show through a tiny amount as well. I sampled this twelve ounce can purchased from Binny’s Beverage Depot in Chicago (Downtown), Illinois on 25-May-2016 for US$1,75 sampled at my hotel in Columbia, Maryland on 29-November-2016.

12 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 3/3/2016. Pours lightly hazy golden orange color with a 1 finger dense and rocky off white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, apricot, mango, passion fruit, lemon/orange peel, pine, light caramel, toasted bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of juicy citrus/tropical/pine hops and moderate bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, apricot, mango, passion fruit, lemon/orange peel, pine, light caramel, toasted bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Moderate pine/citrus rind bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, apricot, mango, passion fruit, lemon/orange rind, pine, toasted bread, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of juicy citrus/tropical/pine hops and moderate bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and zero lingering hop astringency after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from bitterness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately sticky/resinous, and lightly creamy/grainy balanced mouthfeel that is great. Minimal warming alcohol for 6.8%. Overall this is a very nice IPA. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of juicy citrus/tropical/pine hops and moderate bready malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink. A very enjoyable offering.
