Power tasting at Phill's, bottle 537/720, bottled 2/6/2019
Black colour. Some phenol in the aroma, like the base version; bold, with dark sugar, but the bourbon seems to detract rather than adding; quite boozy.
Still good.

500ml (thx, Jack L.!) on Phill's deck. Appearance: brown with a dark beige head. Aroma: slightly oxidized bourbon bomb. Taste: along the same lines with some leather notes, low carbo. Overall: nice 👌.

Black, inky. On the nose, there's a lot of booze, barrel, nuts and a lot of dark sugars. On the palate, super rich with a whack of booze. You have to love the barrel and booziness. Big dark sugars. It's edgy, I'm enjoying it.

Jet black brown with a small light brown head. Intense big bourbon notes and woody notes. As it smells, big and bold with more bourbon notes I like.

500mL bottle, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma is complex, with lots of orange peel, bourbon barrels, molasses, and red fruits. Flavour is intense on the bourbon barrels upfront, with orange peel, vanilla, dark red fruits, and molasses. That's a lot of bourbon, with plenty of butterscotch and orange peel. Not sure if I prefer this to the base beer, but this is certainly a nice rendition.
Heavy beast of a beer. Boozy, some rough edges too, not as smooth as I'd like. Plenty of bourbon. Nice bit of coffee roast in the beer, fairly bitter. All in all a pretty solid beer, and quite tasty, but not as balanced as I'd hope.
