Brown with a sudsy, beige head. Aroma promises red currant, caramel, lightly toasted grains. Taste is faintly tart and mildly bitter, finishing the same, with a finish that’s rather short and elusive. Body to the light side of medium, moderate watery texture. Probably more appealing to me on a warm day.

330ml bottle. Opalescent, chestnut colour with remarkable ruby shimmer and small, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, off-white to beige head. Mellow, minimally nutty, dark malty and yeasty fruity aroma, hints of malt lozenge, red berries, a touch of praline. Taste is slightly toasty and nutty, dark malty, hints of malt lozenge, praline, bitter hoppy counterpart with a minimally metallic touch. Minimally creamy, watery texture, smooth and soft, simultaneously minimally dry palate, medium to fine, mildly prickly carbonation. Very nice colour, not the darkest Dunkel, almost more nutty than roasty, Mild Ale allusions - obviously Brauhaus Germering understands dark beers way better than other styles.
