Huge thanks to Erzengel for that one! Bottle looks simple but good. Beer in the glass not as dark as exspected, small head. Intense malty aroma. Starts fine malty-spicy, light alcoholic touch, not as roasty deep as other dark doppelbocks. Caramel background. Finish well balanced. Not bad.

Soft smooth beginning. Creamy caramel, soft with a caramelly back. The beer is creamy and not too bitter, round and malty, caramelly with a creamy malty finish. Nice.

Bottle, 6.5%. Weak, malty bonbon aroma, slightly vinous. Clear dark amber colour. Almost no head. Flavour is OK malty, has some bonbon as well. Lightly caramellized sugar. A bit thin for doppelbock.

Bottle, thanks pivnizub. Light metallic roast and bitterhop nose. Red brown, low creamy brown head. Dry and light with a bit caramel sweetness in the finish, herbal notes, orangepeel. Fresh and nice actually.

(33cl swing top bottle) Clear, amber colour with a mid-sized, non-persistent off-white frothy head. Sweet roast-malty, bready nose with strong notes of caramel and a tinge of Citrousy hops. Sweet flavour, medium to full bodied with a soft and pleasant, well-matured carbonation. Strong toasty and cara-malty bready base; sweet and slightly bitter toast-malty finish with a light but balancing herbal hoppy touch. Mild and likeable Doppelbock (21.02.08).

Bügelverschlußflasche (33cl): Deep golden coloured, smaller fluffy tanned head; distinctive bready-fruity (lemony) aroma with sweet-malt and hops in the second row; moderate to solid sweet-bitter flavour, medium bodied; some hidden fruitiness (lemons) in the bisquity-bready (almost a bit almondy or marzipan-like) and bitter finish. Not world-shaking, but all in all a quite well drinkable "slim" Doppelbock.....
