750 ml. bottle. This one has a different label and calls itself Pelican Saison, but it seems to be the same beer. It pours a mostly clear golden yellow color with a large, fizzy white head that shrinks rather quickly. The aroma is medium fruity with apple, pear, grape with slightly lighter notes of bread, yeast and herbs. The flavor is fizzy with lots of herbs, apple, grape and pear. Light to medium acidity and a medium to strong earthy/peppery bitter finish. Highly carbonated and a touch watery with some hints of soap on the palate. Overall, decent enough but it doesn’t really "pop" for me.

2012 bottle. This brew pours a hazy pale orange color with a medium thick foamy white head that dissipates gradually. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of fruit, yeast and hops. Medium-bodied with flavors of peppery yeast, grassy hops, fruit and malt. The finish is fruity with an herbal yeast aftertaste. Above average overall.

Bottle. Pours with a massive white head over a hazed yellow body. Aromas are nicely malty, bready with some peppery phenols, light esters and a bit of a spicy hop note. Flavors are grassy with a really beautiful, phenolic and black pepper driven yeast profile. Nice esters of dried pears. Lively bubbles, dry and light. Well done.

750 c&c shared by Marcus. Pours slightly hazy gold with a five finger foamy creamy head. Aromas of yeast and citrus fruit. Full bodied. Yeasty as a tripel. Fruits of the lighter sorts. A bit of earthy tartness, especially around the back tongue edges. Good, as are all their special ales.

750ml Bottle. Pours out golden topped with a white head. Aroma was of belg yeast, light fruit notes, spice, and some floral notes. Taste is much as the aroma with the belg yeast leading the way. A nice spice and floral helps round it out.

Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy golden color with a small white head. Has a fruity spicy yeasty aroma. Fruity malty and spicyyeasty flavor with some citrus hints. Has a fruity spicy finish with some citrus hints in the aftertaste.

FRO Throwdown: Cloudy yellow, foamy head. Bready with cloves? Lemony, coriander, wheaty. Minty coriander flavors. Lightly spicy finish. A witbier labeled as saison or something?

750 ml corked and caged bottle ordered over the web directly from the brewery. 2008 Vintage. Pour is initially clear golden with tons of cascading (reverse cascading I suppose) carbonation bubbles building up a 2 inch white head that falls pretty quick. The final pour was hazed. Aroma of herbal floral sweet hay and yeastiness. Some notes of honey and apricot. Taste is the honey sharp sweetness, herbal, grassy hay and clove spice yeastiness. Complex taste, decent melding of flavors. The aftertaste has a lot of clove to it. Palate is medium, mouth coating and a bit less thirst quenching than other Saisons I have enjoyed. The honey cloys a bit towards the end. Overall, a nice Saison.

A hazy golden beer with a thick white head. The aroma is sweet matly with notes of citrus and spices among them coriander. The flavor is sweet spicy and malty and with a slight alcohol burn on the tongue, leading to a dry spicy finish.
