On tap at Håndverksølfestivalen. It's a dark brown to black beer topped by a dense finger-thick dark beige to light tan colored head. Some curtains. The aroma feels quite sweetish, it's roasted and lightly burnt, with oats, some licorice and toffee. It's full-bodied and lightly warming on the palate, with a nice, smooth carbonation. Roasted malts, a good dash of licorice, some burnt malts and leather, oat, toffee and hints of prunes in the flavor. Some alcohol too, and a good dash of sweetness. The finish lasted all the way out of the festival. Nice.190608

Bottle. Almost clear dark brown body under a small beige head. Nice aroma of dark malt, caramel and dry fruit with a faint hint of oxidation (not in a bad way). Taste is sweet with lots of malt, caramel, dry fruit and some bitterness. Fine body and long lasting aftertaste. Pretty solid but pleasant strong beer.

Bottle at home, watching Netflix, by the fire, 11th December 2020. Pours a black and rich stout. Aroma is liquorice and roasted malts, light coffee and dark chocolate. Taste is rich, thick, liquorice, leather, earthy and bitter, roasted malts, thick body to it for the ABV, beautiful Impy, no messing, a just forward classic in the style

Bottle picked up from Craftbeer-Shop.com Meyer Getränkemarkt Betriebsgesellschaft mbH and consumed at home Thursday 12th March 2020 watching Dark on Netflix. Pours black with a really dark brown head. An Impy Stout with a more original and traditional feel to it, it doesn't appear to be laced with all manner of adjuncts and I really, really like it because of this. Lots of chocolate, liquorice and some charred wood, roasty, thick in the mouth, it's a glorious sipper. Lovely stuff.

330ml bottle. Jet black colour with average, thick, creamy, moderately lasting and lacing, brown head. Sweet-ish, chocolately, roasty dark malty aroma, notes of Belgian chocolate, couverture, some coffee, espresso, sugared espresso. Taste is bitter, roasty dark malty, notes of liquorice, burnt coffee, a minimally ashy touch, minimally metallic overtones; more pleasant coffee flavours find their way through the metallic top layer only lately. Viscous texture, smooth and soft, minimally cloying palate, soft carbonation. Could be a candidate for a 4+ score, but the bitter-metallic combo is too heavy an interference.
