For the first time ever in our IPA series we’re collaborating with another brewery! Together with Aslin Beer Co. out of Virginia we made a classic DIPA with some of the most unique and sought after hops we could find. Strata, Zappa and Comet lend a deliciously dank passionfruit forward character with underlying notes of mango and citrus.

Reviewed from notes.
Can to tulip.
Appearance: glossy burnt orange color with a thin cap of a little white head which swiftly fell off and barely left any lace
Aroma: subtle mangoes and passion fruity hoppy notes play with some grassy sweet hops then a delicate malt backbone
Flavor: blends the prior noted aromas together fairly bittersweet with a mild aftertaste of passion fruity and citrusy hoppy tones
Texture: medium bodied, thought it was going to be a sipper but turns out that this was somewhat sessionable; good smoothness along the tongue; finishes semi-crisp with the mango to passion fruity hops
Overall: pretty good DIPA I believe I could come back to.

Can from the LCBO. Cloudy orange pour, with a large white head. Tropical fruit abound, with some grapefruit pith, and orange zest. mouth feel was full, slightly oily, with a soft carb. Finish was medium bitter, more pithy grapefruit, with a large sweet, slightly tangy tropical fruit, stone fruit finish.

Pours hazy yellow gold, huge floral notes, like tropical flowers, heavy scented types. Mildly dank in the background with some mild resinous notes too. Big juicy hops in the front, juicy body but finishes strong wit a nice bitterness, this is kind of another hazy dipa, 2 in a row for me, but this one is much better than the last because of the solid malt body and bittering hop finish. Flavors also tropical flower, a bit of citrus, very heavy breadiness in the malts, finishes on the dry side. Background pineapple flavors. So I like the hop profile. I didn't know Zappa hops were a thing, so I gotta appreciate the namesake, wish I knew exactly what they were contributing. Nice can art. What I don't like: the resinous juiciness. Its too much, and like all beers in this style, not as drinkable as they could be.

Can. Bucket of sand with a fat coat of white head that lasts OK. Odd aroma is watery with cheap perfume, some tropical fruit, sauce thickening slurry. More decisive taste with crackers and light bread under tropical fruit, herbs and some resin. 8.1%! I appear to have got a better one than ALLOVATE but this is underwhelming. Just a mess.

Can @ Brygghuset. Hazy, yellow golden body under a white head. Aroma is fruity like tropical and citric fruit. Taste is also on the fruity side with mostly tropical fruit, some citric and ripe mango. Fine body and long lasting fruity aftertaste that ends slightly bitter as well. Very refreshing and just another sample of my theory that a proper NEIPA needs the alcohol to be balanced and not just overly sticky sweet.

Poured from 473mL can. Cloudy yellow with white head. Tropical notes with mild citrus and pine hops, alcohol sticks out a bit, lacking some blend. Still not bad, but they've done better.
