For the first time ever in our IPA series we’re collaborating with another brewery! Together with Aslin Beer Co. out of Virginia we made a classic DIPA with some of the most unique and sought after hops we could find. Strata, Zappa and Comet lend a deliciously dank passionfruit forward character with underlying notes of mango and citrus.

44 cl can @ VesaV. Canned 06.07.2020, BBE 06.07.2021 Aroma has odd overripe fruits and grapefruit. Flavour has grapefruit, overripe fruits, druit juice and some baking stuff. Mellow hoppiness on aftertaste. Unusual but ok.

473mL can, pours a cloudy bright golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out plenty of bitter pine, melon, citrus zest, some tropical fruits, and biscuity malt. Flavour is fairly bitter but clean, with bright citrus zest, piney hops, gentle tropical stone fruit pith, and dry biscuity malt. Finishes with bitter pine and citrus zest, with not much malt backbone. Relatively clean. Well-made.

Can. Hazy yellowish gold beer, small bubbly pale cream colour head. Palate is light and semi dry, decent fine minerally carbonation. Light smooth malts, a light creamy sweetness. Smooth cooling piney hops. I was drawn to this beer by the presence of the incredible Neomexicanus Zappa hops, but the purple skittle presence is light if obvious here. Modest Comet orange and lemon, modest and soft. Touch of floral melon from the Strata. Light finish. Well! Will you ever see this hop combo again? I'd be surprised. Good stuff, imaginative, but could have a lot more hop presence.

473ml can. Hazy, yellow-ish golden colour with small to average, frothy to creamy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Fruity, slightly citrusy and minimally herbal-grassy, hoppy aroma, hints of yellow apple and quince, a touch of lemon and lime, whiffs of mint and basil. Taste is sweet-ish, pale malty and fruity, slightly citrusy and herbal-grassy hoppy, minimally peppery, yeasty spicy, notes of yellow apple, apple purée, some quince, lemon, a touch of mint and white pepper; bitter, minimally alcoholic finish. Watery texture, smooth and soft palate, medium, minimally prickly, carbonation. Rather unspecific fruitiness overall, neither pronounced citrusy nor distinct tropical fruity hop flavours, nice herbal aspects instead - expected a bit more...

Can from The Gull, North Vancouver
Cloudy blond colour. The aroma is mild but nice, almost smoky. The mouthfeel is drier than the average IIPA, the hops are piny and zesty.
Good.
