For the first time ever in our IPA series we’re collaborating with another brewery! Together with Aslin Beer Co. out of Virginia we made a classic DIPA with some of the most unique and sought after hops we could find. Strata, Zappa and Comet lend a deliciously dank passionfruit forward character with underlying notes of mango and citrus.

Can that pours a hazy golden colour with a slight yellowish-white frothy cap, decent retention and some light foamy lacing. Berry nose from the Strata hops with the citrus background and grassiness. Alcohol is also felt in the aromas. The taste is milder than expected, but the Zappa hops add some nice spiciness, zap, as well as tropical fruit notes. It is fairly bitter in the middle with a dry-alcohol finish. Mild citrus lingers. Interesting to try these hops and see what they give us differently. Just not a fan of the flavours so much.

Can from the LCBO. Murky medium gold with a small off white head that fades slowly to a sheet and leaves some tight lace. Nose has mango, stone fruit, tropical fruit, melon, light bread. Light sweet malt supporting a medium+ tropical fruit and citrus peel bitterness. Mouth is medium+ with soft carbonation and a lingering bitter finish. 7/3/7/4/14
