Tsjeeses was brewed for the first time in 2004 but not under that name because we didn’t find a name yet. Different code names like "Dangerous Blonde”, “New Years Blond” were used in 2004 and 2005. While brewing the same beer in 2006, our team got so hit by the beer, at a certain point, somebody said: “Tsjeeses what a great beer”. This batch was bourbon barrel aged.

Tastes more like a barleywine to me. It’s a big boozy, mildly spiced beer. Well made sipper. Light body. Online etre bier

Vintage 2013. W smaku slodkawe, koniakowo-bourbonowe. Dobre ale nie powala.

I obtained this 2014 vintage, 33 cl bottle from belgiuminabox some months ago. The weather gets cool, I break out the dark beers. A Belgian strong dark ale, one of my favorite styles. And it has had the benefit of time in a bourbon barrel, only better I suspect. I pour into my Great Heights snifter and determine a cola brown body with a head of eggshell brown foam that slims down but does not go away. The smell is a good intro, I find caramel, fruit cake and chocolate perhaps. The taste now, ooh, that is good. Dates, raisins, candy, vanilla, grain and alcohol. There's some heat with this, just a touch. Really nice, I think De Struise does some great things.

Bottle shared with my dad, 2014 vintage. Pours a reddish brown with a nice fine head. Aroma is very Belgian, lots of caramel, brown sugar, figs, plums, licorice, yeast. Bourbon gives it an extra richness. Big body. Flavour is syrupy-sweet, with lots of caramel and brown sugar. Very sweet, even for a Belgian. A tad of bitterness, some fruity and berry-like notes (again figs and plums mostly). Some spices, wood and actually some hops! Bourbon is nice, not too intense. Really nice!

Aus der Flasche im 2019-08 (Vintage 2013) getrunken. Diese BA Bourbon Version kann hier perfekt ausgewogen und mit einem tollen Mundgefühl daher. Geiles Zeug!

Bottle at home from a previous Belgium trip. Dark amber golden colour, small white creamy head. Aroma is apple, malt, sweetnes, bit of caramel, boozy fruits. Taste is lovely. Smooth, full bodied, nice sweetness, boozy fruit. Xmas cake, spice. Hides the alcohol well.
