A slightly orange colour, a head is big and beige. Aroma is fresh and tastefull, lots of oranges, witbier like fruityness and spicyness, coriander and tropical fruity hoppyness. Taste is like aroma, oranges, spicys and grapefruity hoppyness, hint of black peppers; interesting witbier with nicely long and medium bitter and aromatic aftertaste. Medium bodied, nice carbonation, but not so refreshning as usual because of quite high alc.%, but so what when the taste is great. Very interesting beer, where the stronger hoppyness gives something new into this style, I like this beer.

Draft taster at Bavarian Lodge. This is cloudy yellow like a Belgian white. I could not pick up much of a nose here. But when I tasted it, I got the most viscous sip of beer ever to cross my tongue. Or was it the thick malts with lots of fizz giving me that impression? It’s a hoppy wrapper around a creamy center of Belgian light malt. Hops are an unusual combo, with rough Amerillos and Cascade laced up with English Goldings and Czech Saaz. There’s also the usual lemon peel of the style.

On tap at the house of 1000 beers. Now I know why this beast rates so high, this site is full of hop lovers and this is a hoppy white beer. Big giant over the top foaming pour from the tap. Clean almost lemon yellow appearance. Surprizingly floral hop aroma. Quite rude from the top, certainly not a wit beer as we know them. Bitter and hoppy. Over the top, what else could I expect from this brewer. At least call this a wheat ale for cryen out loed, has all the rude ale attributes of a mild IPA. Flat. Quite dissapointing, way too much money for this wit beer wanna bee.

Bottle shared with jcwattsrugger. Pours cloudy orange. Off white head. Nose/taste of lemon, banana and wheat. Mouth feel is full - some spiciness to taste that was not present in the nose.

24/03/2011 Brasserie 4:20 (tap).

On tap at Cask Pub and Kitchen, Pimlico, London last November. A hazy golden coloured pour with a decent white head. Belgian yeasty, banana aroma. Tastes similar, banana, yeasty, wheaty, sweet, fruity, malty. More like a turbo charged Belgian whaet beer but very enjoyable all the same.

draft @ Delirium, Brussels. dorée brumeuse, mousse blanche.
