0,33l bottle at home. BB 11/2019. I think the bottle says that the bottling date is 5 years before the BB-date, so that would mean it was bottled 11/2014, ouch, lets try :P black color, small tan head. smells of licorice, light black-currant notes, cola, parfume, bit stale hops, earthy notes, spices. not too exciting smell. full body, soft carbonation, slick mouthfeel. tastes earthy, licorice, spices, peppery, light uncleanliness, stale hops, currant notes. finishes bit dry with notes of licorice and spices / uncleanliness. too old I guess, not very good at all. bought this about a month ago at firmabier.

Dutch BIPA in the Reuzenbieren series, since 2014. At De Goudse Eend in Gouda. Thick, egg-white head over a nearly opaque black beer. Lovely aroma of coffee grounds, bitter chocolate, black peppercorn, roasted onion, dried herbs, beef broth. Dried fruits in the mouth, quite concentrated sweetish flavour with a salty, salmiac-like touch, supple chocolatey malt base with spicy notes (black tea), peppery and grapefruity, long bittering and drying hop finish. I love black IPAs and this is a quite an impressive example of it - I wish more like these were brewed in Belgium as well.

Bottle from Burg Bieren, BB 2019, large sample (probably couple of months old). Dark color, big frothy light brown head. Aroma of citrussy hop, bit sweet candy, slight roast, strawberry, bit grassy, hint of pine. Medium bitter in taste, slight sweetness, bit dark bread. Bit high on carbonation. Quite ok.

Bottle. Black, with a brown foamy head. Aroma is mostly chocolate and malt. Taste is very malty, with coffee and cacao. Some mild bitter hops and a finish of salty licorice. Way too much carbo, another burpfest.

Hotel tasting with Colin Theydon Bois. Opaque black - brown beer, good fluffy pale tan head. Palate is airy and dry. Mild dark malts, slightly sweet. Undertones of roast and coffee and a trace of dark chocolate. Hops are light and dry pine, mildly bitter. Light airy finish. A sweetish CDA that drinks well under it’s abv.
