Last big beer prior to the Fastenzeit. Virtually black with a creamy, beige head. Rich cafe mocha aroma full of dark chocolate and coffee beans. Roasted grains underneath. Taste is mildly vanilla sweet with the roasted bitterness playing out increasingly going into the finish. Finishes warm and dry and full of roasted coffee. Body to the fuller side of medium, carbonation moderate. Decent chewiness. Definitely one of the better coffee blend beers I’ve had—the blend here is very well done and adds to the beer rather than overwhelming it. The strength and body hit the sweet spot for me too. Good stuff.

Bottle from Struise online. Cloudy black, thinning, beige head. Strong aroma of prune, dried fig, date, cold coffee, toast, mocha biscuit, nutmeg, dark chocolate. Taste has sweet prune, fig, vague red apple in a chocolatey malty body, a bit nutty; bitter middle with coffee roast & toast, vague spicy note. Dry, toasty, earthy hoppy finish, dried fruit & more expressive espresso roast, touch of vanilla, softly warming coffee liqueur alcohol. Medium to full body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Extremely elegant coffee Porter, just great.

330ml bottle. Jet black colour with average, creamy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, dark beige to tan head. Roasty, dark malty aroma, notes of coffee, roasted coffee beans, mocha, dry cocoa, some earthy aspects. Taste is minimally sweet, roasty dark malty, slightly chocolately, notes of coffee with earthy and mineral aspects, subtle fruitiness and a spicy touch of cinnamon, hints of dry cocoa. Slightly oily, watery texture, smooth and soft, minimally cloying palate, fine and soft carbonation. Another great Must Kuld variety.

Bottle: As black as ink, small tanned foamy layer, moderate to solid bitter-sweet aroma of freshly ground coffee, roasted malt and caramel; almost solid sweet-bitter flavour, quite low acidity, nearly full bodied, silky MF; lingering drier bitter-sweet finish with returning coffee and roasted malt. ABV: 7.8%. Clear dark black brown colour with a average, frothy - creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, coffee, sugary coffee, chocolate, light lactose. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and light bitter with a long duration, sweet coffee - sugary coffee, coffee, dark malt, bourbon - chocolate - coffee. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20201105]
