Draught @ Birra-Italian Craft Beer, Berlin. Pours dark amber with a creamy tan head. Aroma of malt, caramel, little dried fruit. Flavor is sweet, malty, caramel, little fruit. Medium body, soft to average carbonation, sweet finish. 300720

“Orange Abbey Brown Ale“ von Hops & Barley, vom Faß im schönen Friedrichshain. - Schönes Kupfergold. - In der Nase schöne exotische Hopfenaromen, Harz, Mango, Pampelmuse. - Antrunk satt karamelmalzig mit gedämpfter harzig-zitrusfruchtiger Hopfenherbe. Milder rezent, weich. Im Abgang runde Hopfenherbe mit Pampelmuse. - Von dem Wort “Abbey“ angelockt, erwartete ich hier ein abteiartig malzschweres, süßes Bier, aber dieses ist ein hopfenbetontes Ale, das ich mit geschlossenen Augen gar nicht als braunes erkannt hätte.
