AB:16, our latest concept beer, is a smooth and luxuriant Belgian Quad infused with coffee beans. On the nose you might find warming clove and nutmeg, cafe au lait, subtle dark fruit notes, and hints of candied lemon peel.
The combination of aromas evokes malt loaf or ginger cake. On the palate, smooth & fruity espresso, milk chocolate, and warm brandy-soaked currants are in the middle of a high-class dance-off off against the spicy and peppery Belgian character. the mouthfeel is smooth and rich, and the beer pours a deep copper colour.
Malts:Extra pale, munich, crystal, chocolate, wheat
Hops:Waimea, Saaz, Fuggles

375ml bottle at the Hoppy Pub, Thessaloniki, courtesy of skullgeorge. Dark copper color with beige head. Malty and fruity aroma, dark fruits, plums, light coffee in the beginning, caramel, some light "plastic" notes, light alcohol. Sweet and light bitter taste like aroma with some chocolate. Light to medium oily body, soft to flat carbonation.

Pours a slightly cloudy brown color, topped witha very small tan colored head and very little carbonation. Malty aroma, some fruity notes and lots of soy sauce smell. Sweet taste, malty and some biscuits, finishing with decent bitterness. Better than AB: 14 I had not long ago, but still not what I like.

reddish dark brown colour, almost no head at all; aroma of intensive alcohol, herbs, vanilla, caramel and dried fruits; taste is dominated by alcohol, malty sweetness, hints of whisky and bitterness; unfortunately both the aroma and taste (especially the latter one) are too much dominated by alcohol, which makes it impossible to enjoy the other components - disappointing quadrupel

3.1.2015. Bottle by MisoW, thanks! Aroma rich malty, toffee, raisins, vanilla. Lightly hazy dark brown colour. Taste is roughly same as aroma, with warming alcohol showing through. Good beer, it kind of leaves you wanting something more though. 7 4 7 4 14 = 3,6 Rerate, 2.1.2021. Bottle from who knows where. No carbonation, full body. Very dark colour, clear. Spiciness is slightly on top here, both belgian yeasty spice and grains of paradise, both in moderate intensity. Balanced by loads of deep caramelly malty flavours, toffee, caramel, biscuits. Oxidized dried fruits assertive too. Coffee is quite light, yet present. Very rich, intense, full of character, also tasty. Initially rather spicy, finishes with the complex malt. Very good. 8 5 8 4 16

Bottle kindly shared by MisoW, many thanks. Very dark brown color with small light beige head. Sweet malty aroma with candies, red fruits. Sweet malty taste with caramel, burned sugar, ripe fruit, banana, booze.

(375ml bottle from Systembolaget) After a ridiculous time trying to get the long, straight sided synthetic cork out, finally pours a clear pale cola colour with lots of bubbles on the side of the glass like a pop, but no head forming. Aroma has lots of caramel and toffee as expected, almost intensely sweet like soda, mix of grape jelly and prune, a bit of yeasty sort of spice and breadiness. Some air brings out lots of roast nuts and just a hint of aromatic cacao - huh. Palate is very sweet and malty, caramel, table syrup, brown sugar. A bit of stewed dark fruit and some grape jelly builds in the middle. Towards the finish a touch of spice box, and a faintly nutty toasted malt type bitterness. Aftertaste has lingering sweetness, soft fruit, touch of bread. Alcohol heat present but light. Fairly light body with almost no carb. Itβs a decent quad with some elements that I like, but itβs rather sweet, not quite yeasty enough and without the lovely mouthfeel of the best Belgians (and substantially pricier).

Draft @ BrewDog Shepherds Bush, Shepherds Bush W12. Pours a dark amber color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity malty spicy yeasty caramel and dark fruit aroma. Sweetish malty dark fruit spicy caramel flavor. Has a sweetish malty spicy dark fruit finish.

Bottle @ Yespr tasting. Hazy dark amber with an off-white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, caramel, dried fruit and alcohol. Flavor is quite sweet and rather bitter. Sweet finish with warming alcohol. 221114

Bottled. A red beer with a tan head. The aroma has notes of caramel, over ripe fruits, and malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of alcohol, over ripe fruits, metal, and caramel, leading to a dry alcoholic finish.

37.5 cl bottle. Pours clear and golden amber to brown with a small off white head. Aroma is toasted malty, light breadish. Sweet, burned, roasted and overripe fruity. Light smoked and dense dark prunes. Dry and slight herbal. Warming finish.
