“Garde Dog” Biere de Garde is unfiltered with a hazy, deep golden to light copper appearance. Brewed with domestically grown French Hops and German Pilsner Malts, it gives craft beer drinkers a very enjoyable, light-bodied, subtlety sweet beer with toasty malt undertones. Garde Dog is the perfect compleiment to lighter fare such as seafood, salads, cheese and Middle Eastern and Indian foods

Bottle thanks to angrypirate06. Pours with a fading white head over a mostly clear golden body. Aroma of toast, pear and pepper. Taste is apple, pear and dry toast. Very light bodied, dry and lively.

Hazy deep blond color. Soft aroma, malt, fruity chewing-gum, paper; strange, only for lovers of the simple beers. Fizzy and sweetish malt, a bit spicy, correct bitterness, light herbal touch. Simple.

[355ml nottle from Tuckers Maltings, Newton Abbot] This was my first Biere de Garde, and for some reason I was expecting something like a cross between an English bitter and a pilsner. I was in for a bit of a shock! It pours amber-gold with no head and prickly carbonation. Aroma is metals and malt. The flavour is surprisingly dominated by Belgian yeasts; in fact, there’s more than a hint of a Belgian wheat beer here. Cloves at first, some pear and orange, pretty sweet. Sticky candy sugar in the finish that a slight dry bitterness completely fails to offset. Not at all as I expected; cetainly different, but rather sickly.

Bottle from Utobeer. Hazy gold, lasting off white head. Yeasty aroma. Some citrusy fruit aroma too. Reminds me definitely of some of the better French biere de gardes. In fact its very good with good yeast character, decent malts and then some very good hops on the end, which are balancing citrusy orangey hops rather than big dumb stupid American ones. Really very drinkable and I liked it very much.

Bottle. Small, fizzy white head that recedes. Body is hazy dark yellow. Aroma of caramel, toasted malt, pepper, spice and flowers. The sweetness (corn syrupy like), though not over powering, overshadows the hops in the flavor which is lightly to moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly sweet and lightly bitter. Light to medium body with a watery texture and fizzy carbonation. Rough around the edges and a bit disjointed.

Bottled at Sorbon, Bromma, Stockholm. Lightly hazy golden, fairly small head. Fruity banana aroma. Sweet and fruity with bubblegum, paper and apples as well as overripe banana and toffee. Medium bodied with near no bitterness. More if a weizen than a bière de garde. Rather sketchy and a bit sloppy.

Quickly descending head anda clear golden body. Sweet dark fruit smell. Malty mostly. Some yeast taste in there. Somewhat sweer and a little bit spicy. Not really interesting, but ok.
