This is a blonde ale that was aged in second use bourbon barrels for a year. It was then blended with fresh RCA to create a floral, citrusy nose and a complex, refreshing ale with a touch of funk.

500mL bottle, pours a hazy golden orange with a medium white head. Aroma reveals gentle funkiness, a little citrus, but no notice of the bourbon or any barrel character. Flavour is gently sharp, with some sharp citrus, moderate funk, a touch of tartness and maybe a tiny hint of oak. Odd beast - not quite sure what this is supposed to be. It's pleasant but it's a bit of a head-scratcher.

Bottle from the brewery. Hazy, but quite dull looking. Big head, frothed up quite a bit. It's a bit bretty, has that fresh lively acidic note. The base beer is a bit dull, however, not getting much clear in the way of malt or hops. Seems the barrel and blending is most of what I get in this. That's okay, but limited.

Very nice foam and a sort of cloudy gold body, lots of nice citrusy yeast on the nose with some acidic wood notes. Flavour is acidic yeastiness, sharp wood notes. Good carbonation. There is something really good happening here.
