Whiplash loves the Amarillo hop and this yearthey've got the pick of the litter, bringing forth heavy tangerine, citrus, a touch of lychee and orange and a low end rumble of stone fruit. Apocalypse Dreams is a beer constructed around all that. Whiplash has taken a deeper, sweeter maltier base of more Maris, Oats and Wheat and laid this on with 7g/L of Amarillo in the whirlpool and then two consecutive 12g/L additions of Amarillo, making this a pretty good 3D experience of this tangerine dream of a hop.

440ml can - Pours a hazy egg yolk yellow colour with small white head that quickly disappeared. Aroma is pine resin, jammy oranges and sweet tropical fruit. A sweetish fruity taste, citrus and tropical fruit flavours, soft malts and a resinous, piny and citrusy bitter hop finish. Nice one.

Can at home, from HOTM online, 22/10/20. Murky fruit smoothie orange with a decent off white cap. Nose is bitter orange, pine resin, grapefruit, light dank chimes. Taste comprises grapefruit zest, bitter orange, pine resin, weed, ripe melon, papaya. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close spiked with lightly aggressive grassy hop bitterness. Solid hop works from Whiplash .... as is the norm.

Can shared by Colin. Yellow color, white head. Smell and taste malts, hops, sweetish tropical fruit hops. Nothing out of the ordinary these days but pretty nice. I like it.

Can sourced from Kihoskh and shared at home (10/09/2020) - hazy yellow to orange with a white head. Vibrant tropical fruity action with lots of pineapple and papaya, grapefruit, mandarin, touch of hop spice, rindy tempered bitterness, assertive hoppy finish. Lovely.

Can, 8.0%. Great grassy and caramelly aroma. Cloudy golden colour. Small frothy white head. The flavour starts is sweet and rather (too) grassy. Like a milkshake which has been dry hopped for too long.
