As Weihnachts Märzen. Clear dark golden with a big fluffy head. Candied malt, caramel, hay, metal, some resin, rye. Metallic bitterness, malty sweetness. Medium bodied, oily texture, soft carbonated, dry metallic grainy malty bittersweet finish. Good Märzen overall.

As Weihnachts Märzen. Clear medium amber colour, good two finger frothy white head, fairly lasting, light lacing. Aroma toasted malts, caramel, grain, hay. Taste medium sweet and light to medium bitter, malty, caramel, grainy, hint of honey. Malty sweetbitter aftertaste, grainy, spicy notes, medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation, nice Märzen.

500ml bottle [as ’Original Märzen’]. Clear, orangey golden colour with average to huge, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, off-white head. Sweet-ish grainy, strawy aroma, a touch of protein, grassy hoppy overtones. Taste is moderately sweet malty, slightly grainy, minimally strawy, slightly grassy hoppy finish. Flat, relatively thin, light and narrow, minimally watery.

bottle from Bierzwerg, as Märzen. Golden colour with a mid-sized white head. Malty, hints of marzipane, woody, resiny finish with a grassy touch.

Had this as Unterbaarer Original Märzen. Bottle looks very simple but okay. Beer in the glass zippy, nice head. Starts strong, intense malty, grasy, fine spicy. Finish a bit milder, less spicy. Okay.

Ins Glas ergießt sich ein dunkel goldenes Bier mit ordentlicher Schaumkrone. Geruch sehr malzig, fruchtig, blumig. Geschmack sehr malzig, hopfig, grasig, Getreide.

(bottle) Clear, deep golden colour with a fluffy foamy white head, quickly diminishing. Quite shy aroma, light-sweet malty and herbal hoppy with a little spice. Moderately bitter flavour, medium bodied with a crispy mouthfeel. Malt-accented taste with spicy herbal notes right from ´the beginning accompanied with a light honey-fruity note; almost dry and slightly bitter finish. Okay but not great.

Bottle (by kind permission of joss): Deep golden coloured, mid-sized, lacing fluffy head; sweet-malty and "wooden2 hoppy aromas; bitter-sweet flavour; sweetish, honeyish finish with a delicate hoppy "tail". O.K., well quaffable......

Bottle. Red golden, creamy off-white head, not much carbonation. Spicy and fruity malt with a good built-in chewiness. Late honeyish notes, aromatic hops stay in the background. Slightly sticky mouthfeel. Good winterbeer.
