Clear dark brown colour, dissipating off-white head. Aroma starts with red fruts, quickly taken over by toast, roasted malts, very pronounced iron. Light raisins. Flavour metallic, sweet, lots of caramel. Quite cloying. Short finish, sweet and loads of caramel.
Rather disappointing actually.

Very dark brown beer. Tired aged malt nose. Semi soft palate. Smooth malt but aged tasting. A little chocolate and cardboard. Subtle coca cola and a sweetish finish. Passable.

30 cl. bottle. Pours deep brown with a creme head. nice yeasty aroma. Flavour is smoky roasted malts with some but not too much caramel. Medium carbonation and a slighty bitter aftertaste as common in a good bock.

On tap @ ’t Pothuiske. Deep dark brown colour, tan head. Aroma of roasted malts and cacao powder. Flavour is dry, roasted malts, bitter chocolate. Bitter finish. Really nice bock, not nearly as sweet as other Dutch bock beers.

Bottle: Hazy, dark ruby-amber coloured, some floaties visible, stable off-white foamy layer; shy dark-malty and fruity nose; moderate bitter-sweet flavour, astonishingly light bodied for a beer of 7.5%; slightly lingering hoppy and dark-malty finish. Not very aromatic, but really not cloying.........
