Bottle from guess where! Appearance - golden yellow with a decent head. Nose - lemon, flowers and custard. Taste - loads more lemon, lemon curd, lemon cheesecake. Palate - light bodied with a creamy texture and a long dry finish. Slightly more carbonated than ideal but very refreshing. Overall - good ale.

Bottle. Pale and clear gold, with next to no head but plenty of fizz. Light, citrus fruit, with some hay and leafy hops. Flavour had some lemon sharpness, crisp malts, a vaguely peppery kick leading to a lingering, bitter, finish. Enjoyable.

500ml bottle from M&S, the gyle, Edinburgh. Pours pale yellow with a thin white head. Aromas of butterscotch and corn. Light sulphur. Taste is just as bad. Grim finish. Possibly the worst beer I’ve bought from marks’s. Possibly one of the worst things I’ve ever put in my mouth, and I was a catholic choirboy.

Bottle. Pours clear, very light golden, with a creamy head. Aroma is grassy hops with zesty citrusy notes, as well as malts with cereals, toffee and notes of honey. Light body, with average carbonation. Flavour is crisp, bitter hops, with citrusy notes, as well as some light roasted malts with cereals. Lingering bitter finish. Nothing exceptional, but still surprisingly tasty and quaffable considering it’s a supermarket brand. Nice golden beer.

Bottle from M&S New Oscott; clear straw yellow pour with a thin white head, aroma has fresh lemon, taste has lemon, a hint of pine, some grapefruit, very clean crisp and refreshing, it’s easy to mock goldes but this is well crushable.
