This is a light golden beer brewed with English Challenger hops for bitterness and American Mount Hood hops for its distinctive clean citrus aroma. Dry hopping before bottling gives a burst of flavour on the palate and a subtle bitterness that lingers beautifully. On the front label the steam trains of the Nene Valley Railway are a familiar sight in the countryside around Peterborough, where this ale is brewed.

Bottle at home in London - picked up at the M&S on Oxford St. Pours crystal clear yellow-gold, lightly effervescent, with a frothy white head. Bready, crackery malts in the nose, some lemon rind, dough, hay. Light-medium sweet flavor with dry and crispy crackers, more bitter hay, slight grass. Light bodied with average carbonation. Finishes with lightly sugary biscuits, moderate bitterness hay and grass, sun-kissed cereal, lemon rind. Interesting stuff. Pretty drinkable overall.

Bottle from Marks and Spencer, Enniskillen [030515]
Straw colour, light haze, thin white head, light lacing
Aroma of lemon, lime, sweet citrus, quite fruity, sherbet
Taste of lemon, soft lime, slight floral, light pale malts, touch peppery
Palate soft carb, light body, soft sweet. Finish is very clean, fairly bitter zest, some spicy hop in the liner
Overall - Bit unusual, liked it. Good clean flavour.

Bottle from M&S, Manchester. Yellow-blond with next to no head. Has a light hoppy aroma and dryish hop taste with a touch of fruit noticeable. Decent enough and easy drinking.

Clear pale golden colour, two finger frothy white head, recedes quickly to a thick layer, fair lacing. Aroma sweet malty, honey, floral, grass, citrus, bit soapy. Taste medium sweet, light bitter, malty, grain, grass. Light body, oily to watery texture, soft carbonation, finish is dry hoppy bitter, bit citrus, bit herbal. Nice one.

50cl bottle. pale straw, ring of white head; moderate carbonation; complex aroma, citrus, vanilla and oak; soft grainy body with some grapefruit bitterness; and a reasonable length of finish with some dry biscuit and lingering vanilla. A lot better than I was expecting.
