This is a light golden beer brewed with English Challenger hops for bitterness and American Mount Hood hops for its distinctive clean citrus aroma. Dry hopping before bottling gives a burst of flavour on the palate and a subtle bitterness that lingers beautifully. On the front label the steam trains of the Nene Valley Railway are a familiar sight in the countryside around Peterborough, where this ale is brewed.

Bottle sample at my 5555th rating tasting at Sar HaMashkaot Ramat Gan. Thanks zvikar. Clear golden. Aroma of bready malt, a bit of fruitiness and floral notes. Flavor has a bit of graininess, stale malt and a bitter finish, kinda husky. Light to medium-bodied.

Bottle at home from Euston M&S. Aroma is crisp lemon zest, toasty, mineral. Golden straw clear pour with a thin scummy head. Flavour is clean biscuity malt, lemon zest, slight grassy hop. Some floral ester characters in there as well. Palate is crisp and light with medium carbonation. Tasty.

Bottle from Marks & Spencer St Pancras. Clear pale gold lasting white head. Some yeast on the aroma. Some ok citrus flavour in the mouth. A well balanced and good drinking golden ale with enough biting hop on the finish to make it interesting. It’s fine and slightly better than average.
