This is a light golden beer brewed with English Challenger hops for bitterness and American Mount Hood hops for its distinctive clean citrus aroma. Dry hopping before bottling gives a burst of flavour on the palate and a subtle bitterness that lingers beautifully. On the front label the steam trains of the Nene Valley Railway are a familiar sight in the countryside around Peterborough, where this ale is brewed.

Bottle from M&S Stoneywood. It pours clear yellow - gold with a small white head. The aroma is toasty grain, cereal, grain husk, twist of citrus, lemon sherbets.and not much else. The taste is crispy, dry, snap of bitterness, toasty grain, slightly twiggy, touch floral, twist of lemony citrus, grass and a touch of nuttiness with a dry finish. Average body and fine, prickly carbonation. I had hoped for a bit more as this is Oakham brewed but it is just a bog standard golden ale.

Bottle on 1st December 2022 from M&S, Archway. Pours a slightly hazy gold with almost no foam or lace. Caramel malt and leafy hops aroma. Citrus peel, caramel and nutty malts in-mouth, and a sweet rounded finish punctuated with earthy pungencies. Full-bodied with a zingy mouthfeel.

Rocky white head left a spotty cover on a pale golden body. Sweet aroma with fruit & confectionery. Medium bodied, soft on the tongue with a slight tickle on the back. Sweet berries, sweet citrus, pale malt & confectionery tastes with a tangy peppery finish. Nice one!

Bottle from M&S, thanks to/shared at folks in London - pours golden with a white head. Sweet pale bready malty, light doughy yeast, with some citrus fruity notes, hay, straw, medium to light body, fruity and grassy hoppy finish.
