Draft - Dark malts with winter spices. Clear amber with a decent brown. Pumpkin spices and dark malts, much too much spice.

One Liter jug-style bottle. Unfiltered glowing orange-red body. Steady, creamy beige head. Big spicy fruitcake beer. To me it really has a festive, Wassail thing going on. Easy, watery mouthfeel. Ginger, nutmeg, orange peel. Tastes a little old, like it sat on the shelves too long. OK, but I wouldn’t really want to drink the whole bottle myself.

On tap. Pours brown with little head. Aromas of malt and spice. Heavy spice flavors of nutmeg and all spice. Simply a pumpkin beer a month later. Needs to be fuller and sweeter to balance the spice and pass as a Xmas beer in my mind. Pass

2012-01-11, draught at St. Augustine’s, Vancouver, 6-4-6-2-12=30
Hazy dark amber color. A spicy and soapy Ale, with some caramel, some residual sweetness, and a good body. Not my kind, mostly because of the soapy touch.

2010-04-01, bottle, tasting at Papsø, 6-3-6-2-12=29
Hazy amber color. Light aroma of caramel and candies, light peach. Sweetish flavor, a bit fruity, with light vegetables and spices; low bitterness. Not impressive.

Bottled. A hazy deep red beer with a thick orangey head. The aroma has notes of straw, malt, caramel, lemon. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of cloves and staranise as well as some malt and caramel, leading to a dry spicy finish.

1 L bottle. Pours cloudy to hazy dark orange with a small white head. Aroma is spiced, phenolic and overripe fruity, light mouldy. Mild bitterness mixed with a phenolic yeasty touch. Lasting spiced and overripe fruity impression.
