Nice dark ruby red / brown colour. Good fine pored persistent head. Dried plum, cola, chocolate, dark malts on the nose. Mouth disappoints: the carbonation is too fine, doesn't balance the sweetness. No mention of the hops of the label: loses points in my book. They're not very dominant anyway. Drinkable and better than a bar dunkel, but that's not saying much.

330ml bottle. Clear, mahogany colour with ruby shimmer and average to huge, thick, firm, creamy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, off-white head. Sweet-ish, dark malty aroma, notes of malt lozenge, a cautious, chocolately touch. Taste is sweet-ish, dark and caramel malty, notes of malt lozenge, some caramel, a touch of milk chocolate, nutty overtones, well matching citrusy hoppy support with a touch of mandarine and sweet orange. Minimally creamy, watery texture, smooth and soft, creamy palate, fine, minimally prickly carbonation. Very well crafted, good balanced, well controlled sweetness - fine.

Bottle, danke Max! Clear brown with a beautiful red shine, fine carbonation and a creamy tan head. Dry roasted nose, light dark chocolate notes. Lebkuchen sweetness on the palate, toasted notes, light spice, Medium body, would have loved a tad more chewiness, lovely hop aromatics hiding until the last moment

Bottle. Dark brown color with beige head. Aroma is bready, grainy, chocolatey, some milky yeast. Taste is chocolate, on the sweet side. Soft velvety mouthfeel with soft carbonation. Nice!
