Svart farge med beige tynt skum. Lukter røkt, bål, brent malt, alkohol. Mye mer behagelig i smak enn lukt. Sødme gjør røksmaken meget god. Sødmen og røksmaken henger i lenge.

Pours utterly viscously to thick tan head over virtually black beer. Fully smoked, phenolic nose with dried fruit, ending ashy. Dried fruit returning, smoke, tobacco ash, molasses, cane sugar, vanilla, booze. Pretty sweet, strengthened by the alcohol. Very thick, well bodied, viscous; alcoholburn, good carbonation. Wow... and a quite original combination at that.

330ml bottle, batch 1320 1, purchased at Vinmonopolet Langnes. A bubbly, fawn-coloured head remaining over a coal black body with a deep dark ruby glint. Clingy lacing down the glass. Appealing smoked malty nose, peaty. Powerful taste character of smoked malts and dried fruits, oak vanilla backbone. Rounded long-lived ending with a bourbon input. Full bodied, but does not taste that strong. Solid, enjoying slow sipper on a Saturday afternoon. (Tromsø 19.09.2020).

Bottle. Dark brown, almost black body under a nice, stable, big, dense, lacing beige head. Aroma is distinct smoke and peated dark malt, then followed by warming Islay whisky type of alcohol with hint of some chocolate, vanilla, wood and coffee. Taste is sweet, but balanced sweet, malty, lots of chocolate and coffee and dry fruit. I feel like this flavor becomes the core flavor of the beer and the smoke and alcohol seems more like a framing around the total experience. There are definitely some similarities with Sunturnbrew here, bit Ghost Ship is even smoother and more complex at the same time, even as its stronger in alcohol. Full bodied and aftertaste that lasts forever. This is so tasty, well balanced and nice.

Bergstua. Svart. Middels høyt lysebrunt skum. Kraftig torvaroma. Silkemyk munnfølelse. Smaken sjokolade, lakris & torv. Topp fylde. Hint av bourbon i avslutninga - som varer lenge.
