Spennende øl som overrasker ifht etiketten sin. Peker litt overalt. Mye muscavado og whiskeyfat her, og forholdsvis lite malt og humle - dvs de er i bakgrunnen. Godt balansert, som berger mye, men mer blatant trøkk enn sofistikert elegant. Ja ... men tja.

Ruikt naar prima vingerverf. Smaakt naar mierzoete vingerverf. Het rokerige mag van mij wat meer spek met eieren en wat minder fabrieksschoorsteen.

Bottle from Deconinck. Bottle 3380/6500. Hazy brown/dark amber with a stable, foamy, tan head. Intense aroma of red apple, stewed pear, ripe plum, rum-soaked raisin, date, vanilla, wet tobacco, wood, fudge, bourbon. Taste has very sweet date, raisin, apple, some pear giving off a phenolic touch too, thick fudge-like body with a hint of vanilla, slightly spicy middle. Ends herbal hoppy but mostly malty, lots of dried fruit, a smoky backbone & wood hints, quite heating (peated) whisky alcohol. Full body, syrupy texture, soft carbonation. Excellent combination of flavours.

330 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 13%, IBU 50. Black colour, moderate to small tan head. Aroma of peat smoke, roast malts, tar, whisky, oak and vanilla. Very sweet, peaty and roasty flavour - the various flavours are \"all over the place\" and appear unbalanced to me. Still kind of impressive with a rich mouthfeel, but hardly a beer I'll buy again.
