Cask@Reading Beer Festival 2012. Black colour, small brown head. Aroma is fruits, roasted malts, some ashes and mild liquorice. Flavour is roasted malts, some dry wooden and smoked ntoes. Roasted and chocolaty aftertaste.

bottle at home .. depp red brown ... thin tan head ... dark roast ... soft toffee malts ... light chocolate nose...little fizzy ... over fizzy ...quite bitter ... roast malts ... barest hint of sourness ... not really working that welll for me ... huge bitterness and a bit thin

Bottle from Mr Lawrence Wine Merchants, Brockley. Black pour with a tan head. Chocolate, malts and brown sugar nose. Bitter chocolate and coffee flavour. Bitter sweet finish. Dry.

Bottle from Jacks, Westholme Stores, Goring-on-Thames, Oxon 16.06.11 consumed at campsite Camping Igueldo, outside Frank (camper) 04.07.11 Pours very dark brown with a light beige head. Lashings of lovely dark chocolate, nice level of bitterness, roasty with some coffee this is a cracking stout. A6 A4 T8 P4 Ov15 3.7

Cask handpul at Ship & Mitre Liverpool. Black with a light tan head. Good choc without going over the top but lasys and lasts in the finish on this fabulous choc. Really good. Just lacks a little in the body. Hoppy for a choc stout too. Such an impressive brewery.

Cask (handpump) @ Crescent, 18-21 The Crescent, Salford, Greater Manchester England M5 4PF.Clear dark dark brown color with a average to large, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, dark roasted, chocolate, oak, light smoke - peat. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long to average duration. Body is medium, texture is oily - syrupy amd smooth, carbonation is flat. [20100123]
