Extraordinary, medal-winning dark session beer. A blend of 5 malts give a smooth, mellow easy to drink beer with a hint of liquorice in the finish. There are berry fruits, sweet molasses and coffee on the nose.

Opaque ruby brown colour, small foamy tan head, mostly diminishing, heavy lacing. Aroma roasted malts, chocolate, dark fruits, dark bread, liquorice. Taste medium sweet and bitter, roasted malts, caramel, chocolate. Bittersweet aftertaste, chocolate, liquorice notes, earthy touch, medium body, watery texture, soft carbonation. General impression is bit thin especially the finish but despite that very nice.

Cask at The Stockbridge Tap. Opaque dark brown body with a thin beige head. Light lacing. Aroma of wood, roasted malt and a hint of blackcurrant. Flavour of ash, coffee and berries. Thin body with a watery texture. Faint carbonation prickle. Quite weak, but a decent effort for the strength.
