If an echo doesn't answer, when it hears a certain sound, then it may be time to grab yourself some of Sign Of The Southern Cross.
We love the oxymoron that is Black IPA! It looks like a stout, but bursts with hop aroma and flavour like an IPA but with a restrained chocolate and coffee taste bringing you back for more. Truly a beer to confuse the senses. A story told that can't be real.

Can at home from Leftfield, 20th May 2021. Pours black, tan head. Aroma is mellow roasted malts, light vanilla and cocoa. Taste is smooth, roasted malts, light ash, mellow, grass and floral notes, yep is a nice CDA and the first Weird Beard beer I’ve had in some time, good

Can sample at a tasting at Yoav's place. Dark brown. Some hops, a bit of coffee, sourish note, bitter finish.

Can split at the Tickombe 30K last tasting before lockdown 2, thanks to Fergoose, 01/11/20. Black with a decent tan head. Nose is cola cubes, light charr, toffee, dried fruits, hint of pine. Taste comprises mellow roast, cocoa sprinkle, charr, ashen tang, pine dusting, dried red berries. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, light drying close spiked with dusty hop bitterness. Decent CDA.

44cl can, BB 28/07/2021, batch # 675.

Can at home in Hackney - picked up from Bottle Apostle, South Hackney. Pours black-brown with a dense, frothy beige head. Very nice CDA, moderate sweetness, restrained roast, just a nip of ash, notes of grapefruit, burnt pine, a hint of cocoa, grape. Medium bodied with active, massaging carbonation. Subtle warmth in the finish, further citrus fruits, tangerine, grapefruit, mellow toasted pine and roasted malts. Solid.
