Can. Deep clear red with a beige head. 3+ Aroma of toffee, dried fruit, oranges and spices. Full bodied, moderate carbonation. Rich and malty with lots of lush sweet dried and stewed fruit, toffee before strong bitterness and spices struggle to take a hold. A little overt alcohol. Last year's big Red Eye went well for me because it wasn't all that lush and so then the hops didn't have to saw through to make themselves felt. This doesn't do that but is still pretty good.

From a 355ml can on 9/9/2020. Pours a clear deep amber with a smallish head. Has a moderate aroma of caramel and dark fruit. Very intense on the sip. Very malty with lots of sweet dark and dried fruit dominating (dates, raisins) with some toffee and caramel in there as well. Finishes with a big, sharp resiny rye bitterness. Very boozy and warming with it presenting bigger than 10%. The texture is syrupy, the carbonation moderate. A decent enough big sipper but a long way from Dainton's best.
